Anniversary: Sweelys to celebrate their 60th
Allen and Lena Sweely of Roseburg will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 29. A reception is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Westside Christian Church, 2712 W. Harvard Avenue, Roseburg. The celebration will be hosted by Lisa Sweely, Frona Gray and Larry Sweely. Everyone who considers themselves friends of the couple are invited.
Allen Sweely and Lena Ferguson were married Nov. 1, 1945, in Dyersburg, Tenn. They have lived in this area for 60 years. Their son is Larry Sweely of Roseburg. They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Allen worked in carpentry, real estate and did mill work before he retired. Lena worked at Western Battery for ten years and then did bookkeeping after that.
The couple enjoys spending time with friends and family.
