The County News Paper:

Samuel Robinson, an aged citizen of the county, (meaning Washington County), died of heart failure getting into his buggy in front of the Bank of Desloge last Saturday evening. Mr. Robinson and wife made their home with her son, George, at Gumbo. They started to Flat River last Saturday afternoon and stopped at Desloge to transact some business. After transacting business in the bank, they came out to get into their buggy. In hitching the horse, Mr. Robinson had used the lines and when he went to unhitch the animal, it stepped up a few steps, causing the lines to become very tight, whereupon the horse back quickly and appeared freightened. This evidently frightened Mr. Robinson, as Mrs. Robinson had already gotten into the buggy. He stepped into her side and died instantly.

Dr. J. G. Hurley was hurriedly summoned, but found Mr. Robinson dead and pronounced it heart failure. The body was rmoved to Stark and Highley's undertaking establishment and was later removed to the home of his son at Gumbo. The funeral Monday at the Gipson Cemetery.

Mr. Robinson was 79 years old and leaves a wife and eight sons and three daughters, one brother and two sisters. The sons are Robert, William, Frank, Firman, Charles, James, George and Andy; the daughters are Mrs. Sarah Ramsey, Mrs. Eveline Ramsey, and Mrs. Mary Downard. He also leaves about 70 grandchildren.
