FOSTER, Darline Mildred-- Age 84, of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2002. She was born on September 9, 1918, in Tracy, Minnesota, to Louis and Nora (Douglas) Sweely. Darline attended school in Hayward, California. On January 25, 1936, Darline married Henry Foster in Hayward. They made their home in Hayward, until moving to Roseburg 57 years ago. Darline attended Westside Christian Church in Roseburg. She was a member of the Crafters Guild of Roseburg for many years. Darline had a booth at the Christmas Fair at the Fairgrounds and sold many of the items she made during the year. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, going to garage sales and flea markets, and going to Winchester Bay where she and her husband spent many pleasurable hours fishing. Darlene looked forward to summer vacations when she could spend time with her grandchildren making cookies and sharing laughter and love. Her other interest in life was her cat "Tuffy". Darline was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother, and a wonderful sister-in-law. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Darline is survived by her daughter, Frona Gray of Roseburg; grandchildren, Julie Gray of Irvine, California, and Trina Rohrer and husband, Kevin, of Cincinnati, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Conner and Brenna Rohrer; brothers, Allen Sweely and wife, Lena, of Roseburg, Louis Sweely and wife, Phyllis, of Salem, Oregon, and Dale Sweely of California; sister, Lois Rodrigues of Salem, Oregon; numerous nieces and nephews. Darline was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Henry Foster, and sisters Grace Sweely and Mae Davis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2002, at WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES, 965 West Harvard Boulevard, Roseburg, with Pastor Lee Olmsted officiating. Burial will be within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
