Rev. Jason A. Tarter 27, passed from this life to his eternal reward on Friday, March 7, 2008 at his home in Greenwood.

Born in Indianapolis, IN, Jason attended the Indiana School for the Blind and Plainfield Christian School before attending college at Bible Missionary Institute in Rock Island, IL. Jason pastored churches in Elizabeth, CO and Newton, IA, before returning to Indianapolis for treatment of cancer in February 2007. He was an ordained Elder and member of the Bible Missionary Church.

Jason is survived by the love of his life, Heidi (Kinnaman) Tarter; his precious 20 month old daughter, Chayla Ruth; parents, Rick and Sheryal Tarter of Indianapolis; brothers, Jon (wife Jasmine) and David Tarter of Indianapolis; sisters, Angie (husband Rev. Sam) Seward of Muscatine, IA and Debbie (husband Rev. Gary) Buske, Jr of Nacogdoches, TX; grandmothers, Earlene Reinhard of Indianapolis and Pat Tarter of Greenwood, IN, and host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Edward Reinhard and Billy Tarter.

Friends are invited to call from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center – Decatur Township.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Southwest Church of the Nazarene, where friends may gather one hour prior to the time of services.

Burial will be in West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, IN.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family CO Flanner & Buchanan, donation envelopes will be available at the Funeral Center.
