Helen Funk

Helen Sarah Ann Funk, 77, died April 13, 2005, at her home in Annapolis, Mo.

She was born Jan. 7, 1928, in Lesterville, Mo., daughter of the late Isaac and Lula (Sutton) Griggs.

She was united in marriage to Edward Lee "Bud" Funk July 21, 1951, and he preceded her in death June 14, 1997.

Mrs. Funk had done clerical work for Federal Reserve Bank, St. Louis. She was a member of the Free Spirit General Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Edward (Shirley) Funk, Thornton, Colo.; two daughters, Deborah (Tom) Green, Granite City, Ill., Barbara (Toby) Skaggs, Annapolis; five sisters, Etta Hovis, Piedmont, Ola McFarland, Centralia, Ill., Mary Rhinehart, Vella Lee Barker, Rebecca Smith, all of St. Louis; one brother, Charles Griggs, St. Louis; three grandchildren, Jessica and Lauren Funk, Shannon Williams; one great-granddaughter, Hailey Williams; three step-grandchildren, Carrie, Phillip and Ryan; three step-great-grandchildren, Faith, Victoria and Ethan.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and George Griggs, three sisters, Opal Rutter, Freda Griggs and Maple Evans.

The funeral was held April 16 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Steve Sale officiating. The eulogy was delivered by her daughter, Deborah Green.

Pallbearers were Bill, Dennis, Randy Hovis, Cliff, Al and Paul Rutter and Charles Griggs. Burial was in Mann Cemetery, Annapolis.
