Byington, Richard N. MADISON - Richard N. Byington, age 78, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at Meriter Hospital. He was born on Dec. 7, 1927, in St. Francis, Missouri, to Henry and Bessie (Lalumondier) Byington. Richard married Lorraine Kiesow on Aug. 30, 1958. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and retired from Oscar Mayer as a sanitation foreman after a faithful 39 years. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine of 48 years; three children, John Byington, Diane Riley both of Madison, and Alan (Lisa) Byington of Cottage Grove; three grandchildren, Jacob, Mykayla and Seth Byington; three sisters and two brothers, Jeanne Becker of Onalaska, Texas, Joyce (William) Koski of Phelps, Clark (Judy) Byington and Marilyn (the late Vernon) Congleton both of Rockford, Ill., and Keith (Frances) Byington of Fallon, Nev.; many nieces and nephews; and one aunt, Mary Alyce Rabaduex of Bonne Terre, Mo. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2670 Milwaukee Street, Madison, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, with the Rev. Mark F. Bartels and the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, and at the church from noon until the time of service on Tuesday.
