Death	Note Barbara Ann Gainey FUNERAL HOME Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 North Armistead Ave Hampton, VA HAMPTON - Barbara Ann Gainey, 85, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013. She was a native of Des Moines, IA and a resident of Hampton for 55 years. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Gainey, Sr. She is survived by three sons, Thurman F. Gainey, Jr. (Diane), Gilbert Andrew Gainey, James Dale Gainey (Renae); two daughters, Betty Stocks and Dixie Lee Davies (Richard); 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Thomas H. Scribner, Sr., Gilbert A. Scribner (Doreen), and William J. Scribner (Judi). The family will receive friends from 6 to 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 13, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
