Born: 1 September 1844 in Pendleton Co., Kentucky, s/o Thomas Ackman and Mary unknown Aclman who lived near Gardnersville in 1850.
Muster in Roll dated Paris, Bourbon Co., Kentucky 16 August 1862. Joined for duty and enrolled 1 August 1862 at Falmouth, Pendleton Co., Kentucky for 3 years.
On a list of prisoners dated Hdqtrs. Army of Kentucky 18 September 1862 - name appears as having been captured and paroled by General E. Kirby Smith during the month of August 1862. Remark: "Paroled prisoner at Indianapolis, Indiana. Transferred to Camp Chase, Ohio, 12 September 1862 where he appears on Muster Roll dated 29 September 1862 - no further information.
