Death | 26 Apr 1926 | St. John’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, United States of America | 7a | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Note
LEAD BELT NEWS, Flat River, St. Francois Co. MO, Fri. April 30, 1926 MRS. H. L. BYINGTON Mrs. H. L. Byington died at St. John's Hospital in St. Louis Monday, April 26, 1926, at ten-twenty P.M., age sixty-one years, eleven months and six days. Mrs. Byington had been sick since last September and, on April 18, she was taken to St. Louis, where she underwent a serious surgical operation from which she never fully rallied. Artie M. Harris, daughter of Job C. and Mary Jane Harris, was born in Ste. Genevieve County May 20, 1864. She was converted at the age of fifteen years and united with the Three Rivers Baptist Church and remained a member there until moving to Flat River, where she joined the Flat River Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to H. L. Byington December 23, 1880. To this union, seven children were born, George of Desloge, Marvin of Three Rivers, Della (Mrs. Lawrence Cunningham) of Los Angeles, Calif., R. Lee of Flat River, Alyne (Mrs. C. B. Smith) of St. Louis, Paul of St. Louis and Myrtle, who died in infancy. Besides these children and her husband, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Anne Edwards of St. Louis, and one brother, Bud Harris of Salem, to mourn her death. The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. E. D. Owen, at the Baptist church in Flat River Thursday, April 29, 1926, at two o'clock. Interment was made at the Masonic Cemetery in Farmington. Mrs. Byington had lived practically all her life in this county where she had many friends. She was a good neighbor, a loving mother and a faithful Christian. Although she suffered much, she bore it with patience. Truly it can be said she was a good woman. The News extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved family. |
