Note

Joined the Army, Company M at Red Oak, Iowa during WW1, and served in France.  Was shell shocked and lost hearing in both ears.
Since he lost his hearing in both ears, he learned to lipread.  Later he taught lipreading at the school he learned it at.
Thought he wanted to be an Electrical Engineer. studied for a while then decided to be a Dental Laboratory worker.  He loved the work and did it for a long time.
Preston and Tencia lived in San Antonia, TX when they came to Red Oak, IA to visit his sister, after an absence of 20 years. While there he suffered a heart attack and died.
